Arizona search options and record coverage
Arizona Business Center provides public searches for Arizona corporations and LLCs and exposes entity documents and record information. The Commission's investor guidance states that the system supports corporation and LLC searches and searches involving officers and directors; the public record also identifies statutory agents and entity status. Trade names and trademarks are maintained through the Arizona Secretary of State rather than the ACC. The portal change from eCorp to Arizona Business Center occurred in January 2026, so links and account workflows should be checked before automation or user instructions are published.
Checking a business name in Arizona
Arizona requires entity names to be distinguishable from existing corporations, LLCs, reserved names, and applicable trade names and requires the correct statutory identifier, such as LLC or Corporation, Inc., or an allowed abbreviation. Capitalization alone should not be relied upon; punctuation, articles, conjunctions, pluralization, and generic words may be disregarded or treated as insufficient depending on the statutory distinguishability test. Regulated words such as Bank, Trust, Credit Union, Savings, and similar terms can require written approval from the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions or another regulator. Arizona name reservations
$10.00 regular or $45.00 with standard expedited processing for an LLC or corporation name reservation. An approved reservation is effective for a nonrenewable 120-day period. Arizona says reservation is optional rather than a prerequisite to formation, and the reservation cannot be renewed by the same applicant after expiration. Same-day, next-day, or two-hour service surcharges may apply when available. Banking, trust, credit-union, savings, and similar regulated terms may require prior approval.
DBA, trade names, and fictitious names
The Arizona Corporation Commission does not register or recognize DBAs. A trade name is registered with the Arizona Secretary of State and is generally active for five years; a county recorder may record a DBA in some local contexts, such as Maricopa County.
